Tuesday After Labor Day
It's been a while since I posted last. My goal is to write in daily. I went to a pool class this morning and a short walk in the evening. I had two pastries today. Hopefully that will be the last for a long while. I went on a 15 day raw food cleanse June 1-15 and a 14 day raw food cleanse August 1-14 followed by a 7 day juice feast that I had to stop 5 days in due to digestive issues. I was hoping to do another 14 day raw food cleanse September 1, however vacation plans, etc, kept me from doing it. I felt fantastic eating raw, so I am looking forward to getting back into the swing of that. Since it is the height of the vegetable harvest, here where I live in Connecticut, I made a huge batch of tomato sauce on Sunday and I am cooking up some more vegetables to make a kind of ratatouille. For sure I would like to go raw again by October 1 or sooner. Well, we'll see. In the meantime, eating healthy will be my focus. Enough with the sugary treats!

So this is my first blog. I plan on writing mostly about my journey to improved health habits, although my opinions about current events may also enter the picture. It's about 10 AM and I am about to go for my morning walk. The temperature is nice and cool out, so I am looking forward to it. I started walking this spring and have made a lot of progress as far as speed and distance. I can now go around my "block" in 25 minutes. At least that is my best time so far. It used to take me about 50 minutes with a lot of standing still to catch my breath. So this is a huge improvement. Well off to walk now...
